WOD 151109

Here is the deal with Wednesday, Veteran’s Day. 4th HOOAH WI presents the 22 mile Veteran suicide awareness March. A 22 mile Ruck March to raise awareness and cash for the fact that every day an average of 22 veterans of the United States of America’s military branches commit suicide. This should not happen, and of the two men I have the honor of calling brothers; Sgt. Nicholas Gries and Sgt. William Kocken are leading the way as President and Vice President of the organization that aims to end this problem. Cash is needed to figure this out and they are raising money for their cause.  And crazy as it sounds, the money is actually getting to the veterans. It’s not going to another contractor building a ridiculously understaffed veterans hospital! Sorry had to rant a little myself.

A bunch of local CrossFit Athletes, including Gunny and Kevin from 920, are doing the ruck during the day which is awesome but I know a lot of you would like to ruck but work is life is making it not possible to do so.  Luckily for you, after the ruck CFGB will be hosting the 3 Wise Men Veteran’s Tribute WOD. All ruck participants and volunteers are welcome to come back and watch how CrossFit honors Veterans. I would not recommend anyone that did the ruck attempt the workout, trust me you will be destroyed enough.

All CrossFit Green Bay members, all area CrossFitters including past members and all you garage gym animals are invited to participate in:

For our part, we are asking for a $22 donation from all athletes and encouraging you to raise an additional $22 from your family, friends at the box or coworkers that listen to you talk CrossFit all day! We will our have coaches on the floor working with everyone. So you’ll get what you pay for with every red cent going to the 4th HOOAH WI chapter.
I’m figuring 2 to 3 sessions and would like to see the scaled athletes start at 7:30pm and the Rx Athletes go afterwards at approximately 8:15pm. Please let us know if you’re coming and Rx or Scaled on THIS post on Facebook or email at info@gbcrossfit.com. In Scale the barbell weight and the movements can be scaled as necessary per individual. Party will follow with drinks donated by Kay Distributing. Probably close the doors around 11pm since it is a school night 😉
Big thank and shout out to our friend Joshua “Chachi” Marunde @ChachiRiot from the band Pop Evil for the video about the event. You guys should all go check out their show Friday night at the Watering Hole, we will be there. One Badass Rock and Roll Star, up and coming CrossFit star and all around good dude.
CrossFit Green Bay members we will have the workout going at every class so you all can get it in if you are unable to get out Wednesday night but it would be cool to show you all off to everybody during the event!
