Jane's WOD

This coming week we will begin our next 21 day Challenge and we will be announcing the winners of this past challenge in the coming days (just waiting on Justin:). This next challenge we are going to change it up a little bit with a little more interaction between challenge participants. It’s going to be fun. 
This Sunday Mike will be hosting another SPEAR clinic from noon to 2pm. I attended his clinic this last spring and it is something that all of us can learn and use when the need for self defense arises. Clinic is free to our specialty members and $20 for non specialty members.

Hey Everyone, Like Grant said above I'll be putting on a second SPEAR Self Defense course at CrossFit GB. Our original course earlier this year was awesome and I'm looking forward to this Sunday. For those of you who might be nervous or unsure of what the course is DON'T WORRY! Everyone can do this. It's not a martial-arts course nor is a background in martial arts needed to attend. In Tony Blauer's SPEAR System, we study the human body as it relates to fear, violence, and aggression. We look at what our body's instinctively want to do prior to any training when encountered with fear or violence. We then look at how we can utilize what our body already wants to do and how we can use that to protect ourselves and our loved ones. We are using the hard-wired, DNA of our bodyโ€™s survival reflex to as the ignition switch to our movements. SPEAR is non-gender, age, size, or occupation specific. All our movements, like CrossFit, are based on โ€œfunctional movementโ€. So if you have a couple hours this Sunday I hope you come check it out!

with partner, both partners must finish the double unders before starting the front squat and same with the front squats before starting the next round. both partners work at the same time so you will each have your own rope and barbell

20 min assault bike
20 min run
note: this is a good recovery day workout as well. just get a little bit glossy and enjoy. scale with 15 or 10 min segments or even 5’s if it gets you to do it
*5.) Box Ladder
5 30/24″ Box Jumps then add 1 45lb plate and complete 5 box jumps and continue until inability to complete 5 box jumps or your last set took an hour. no time cap record total plates of successful 5 rep box jumps
note: box jumps are not with a step
