Granite Games recap #5 – Kippin It Real made up of Danielle, Jamie and Laura.
Team Kipping it Real came in 31st overall out of 66 teams. Danielle came to the rescue and replaced one of our competetors 2 days prior to leaving for the competition. We are lucky to have an excellent athlete ready and willing to step in on short notice! The team was pleasantly surprised by coming in 7th place overall with the Swim/Run even though they were all dreading it. Another surprise was taking 8th overall in the rope climb/burpee box over wod. Apparently the team all liked rope climbs! The assault bike wod was brutal and had everyone dying, but they gave it their all. Similar to other teams, some team members had to learn hand stand walking in short order when it was announced just two weeks before the competition.   Laura was able to practice her heart out and made it 20 ft!!!
The team very much enjoyed eating The Average Bro’s pizza on Friday and Saturday night, and using Sal’s compex (electric shock therapy system) every day and his moon boots for recovery.

1.) Barbara

40 sit-ups
50 squats
Rest precisely three minutes between rounds.
note: scale pull-ups with jumping chest to bar pull-ups
*2.) Every 2 minutes for 10 minutes 7 cycled Push Press, add load each round
note: if you ain’t cycling the barbell you ain’t right
*3.) Front Squat 3-3-3-3-3 @ approx 80%, rest 3-4 minutes between sets
