JENNY

I want to congratulate our head Weightlifting Coach Charlie Spry as he was elected today as the President of the Wisconsin LWC, the state organization of USA Weightlifting. When I first met Charlie I thought he resembled Dilbert from the Sunday cartoons and wasn’t too sure on what I was in for as he showed up at the gym on his bicycle. I’ll tell you what I got and that was a man that was dedicated to athleticism in all forms with no bias or hate towards any form of it. No matter straight up running, weightlifting and CrossFit he embraced it all and that has made him one of my favorite people in this gym because of that fact. He has passion in all that he does and when he took over as President of Green Bay Barbell he has helped grow it substantially to levels that it has never been and I look forward to working with him for years to come. Congrats and from myself the entire gym we love you and appreciate all you do for us!
This isn’t the only Spry though that I want to speak of today as his wife Johnna won the 21 Day Challenge this month with one of the most impressive food journals, gym efforts and inches lost to date throughout our 21 Day Challenges. Congrats Johnna!

U.S. Army Capt. Jennifer M. Moreno, of San Diego, California, died Oct. 6, 2013, in Zhari District, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked her unit with an improvised explosive device. The 25-year-old was assigned to Madigan Army Medical Center on Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state.
