CrossFit HQ WOD 140805

So a few weeks ago I kind of yelled at Jared Johnson (sorry Ty:) I yelled at him because his knees were trying to high-five each other while front squatting heavy. Most around would have said I was harsh and to a point I definitely have a slight problem sugar coating things. Tonight Jared asked me to come and watch his front squats and guess what same weight but the knees didn’t budge. Guess who’s using his glutes and hamies and saving his knees from dumb injuries. Yup, he fixed it and I let him know immediately how thoroughly impressed I was by his dedication to fixing his problem his coach informed him of. You pay me your money to get better and I just cannot tell you something is good if it isn’t. I will though give you the information to fix the problem but you have to remember it and apply it. Every time you do the movement implement what you’ve been told until you hear a “Holy Buckets, that was good!” from across the gym. A 14 year old has set a fine example for our gym on the pursuit of virtuosity. Well done young man.

Lucky it worked this time ;) While I'm not happy that Jared got lazy and apparently forgot how to squat, I am happy you got that fixed. Thanks Coach!

10 Back ext. 
ME Strict Handstand Push-ups -> ME Kipping HSPU
10 Hip ext. 
10 Hips to Rings
2.) CrossFit HQ WOD 140805
10 1-minute rounds of:
315-lb. deadlifts, 3 reps
60-yard shuttle sprint (5 yards, 10 yards, 15 yards)
Max reps burpee
Rest 2 minutes between rounds. Post number of burpees completed each round to comments.
*2.) Power Snatch 65/3, 70/2×3, 75/2×3, 80/1
*3.) C&J 60/2, 65/2, 70/2×2, 75/2×2, 80/2, 85/2×1
*4.) Snatch Pull 80/3, 85/2×3, 90/2×3, 95/2, 100/2

Dyne instead of shuttle run. 6-8 cals per round - just rode until Andy F finished his shuttle ;) Handstand PU with 6in deficit - 8 strict - 10 kip and 7 strict - 9 kip
