WOD 140203

Our annual Ice Bowl competition once again went off without a hitch…..well maybe 1 or 2 small hitches but nothing we couldn't handle and handle it we did. With over 100 athletes competing and who knows how many spectators everything flowed well into the awards ceremony to the after party.
I would like to thank a few individuals specifically:
Justin you did one hell of a job. Justin set up sponsors, planned the layout, managed the floor at the event and dealt with every wrench I threw at him. As you all know I throw a lot of wrenches. Well done Justin.
Betsy and Lisa handled the registration, heats and results. We probably ran close to 50 heats and never once did we not have the right athletes with the correct paperwork. They also had a little help from their runner Z and she ran, all day and even with a smile.
Amy (Z) ran the floor crew. At the CF Games this last year I watched the floor crew and was almost as in awe of them as I was of the competition and during the Ice Bowl I felt the same. Amy had no clue she was in charge until about 30 minutes prior to the start of the competition. Your crew resembled Oompa Loompas, got in and got out with coordination and speed.
Steve handled the horn. Every WOD began and ended with the beautiful sound of Steve with the occasional mid WOD updates
Krystal for being a Janitor for the day. She said she will definitely judge next year.
Joe for getting the front area done in 1 week. Working 20 hour days to between your job and CFGB you definitely stepped up for us.
Sponsors you gave us a little over $7000 to reward our top athletes in all divisions making this year the highest prize purse to date. Thank you, we will spotlight each and every one of you all week.
Judges and floor crew. You all worked your tails off and never once did I see a face that wasn’t smiling nor did I hear complaints minus the pen debacle….stupid blue pens!
Athletes you all showed great form (for the most part) and class. When I gave out the few penalties you handled it with class even when you couldn’t feel your legs anymore only to have to row an additional 5 calories. You cheered on every athlete left in your heat when you finished before them. Class act all around.
Duncan, Zach and Caleb for manning the merchandise table.
Jason at Titletown CrossFit for the use of your plates. You can all blame him for the heavy Clean & Jerks!
If I missed anyone I apologize. I tried to thank every one of you in person but if I missed you I will be in touch this week. Once again thank you all for making this no lie the best CrossFit Competition I’ve been part of or attended.

On Ramp begins today. Class at 6:15am or 7:15pm. If you have not signed up yet you can do so online now or just show up. Now is the time to join CrossFit Green Bay. Learn to move, eat and what it feels like to take your physical fitness to the next level.

Now back to business, we have the Open in 3 weeks.
Happy Monday!
