Spring Chicken

So right. You know when everything feels so right? When you wake up in the morning and you feel ready to take on the day. When you get to the gym and your workout is on point. When you get home at night and get yourself in bed at a decent time with a clear head. Everything is just so right. I know many of you have periods of time that you feel everything is just flowing. That so right feeling I believe is 100% a product of a well disciplined diet and for those of you that have these days of perfect clarity agree with me. So why is it that when everything is going so well we have a tendency to self destruct shortly thereafter? It’s so easy to let one not so right moment go from a small snowflake into a iceberg. Is it because we are trained to believe that a misstep destroys everything that we have worked so hard to accomplish? Downing an entire bucket of popcorn at a movie, a couple of missed workouts, not hitting a PR you’ve been chasing for 3 months or just anything that temporarily doesn’t go your way is not end game. It is one moment, that’s it. Failure does not define us but we sure like to let it. Give yourself a break and accept the fact that every second of every day is not going to always be great but know this there is nothing that you cannot overcome with a clear head. Clear your head. Stop boozing it up on weekends, start going to bed and waking up early, train with passion and most importantly show compassion and love for those around you. You do this and I guarantee you that the year of 2016 will be oh so right.
