Machamp
Each Thursday of the CrossFit Games Open Season we have mobility day. It is honestly one of my favorite classes during the year. We get a chance to spend time getting to know one another while assisting each other in the journey to great mobility. When you are quad smashing or whatever you are doing talk with your partner to see what they are feeling and use their feedback to give them the optimal smashing. Remember our goal is to never exceed on a scale from 1 being no pain to 10 being so bad you want to scream and you most likely are past a level of 7. Communicate and you will both get the most out of these sessions. Next, if you are uncomfortable with someones foot on you for any reason we have lots of alternatives to bring you to the pain cave with just yourself and a LaCrosse ball, Supernova, a barbell or any other tool that will get the same result. Just let the coach know!
One more thing I am going to stress to you all. Make friends with people in your classes. The more people you know the more comfortable you will become. Once you are comfortable next step is to find a group of athletes in your skill range and start to push one another. Use these people as your training partners. A good training partner makes the world of difference to your success in a typical gym. They keep you accountable, spot your lifts and you got a pal to BS with. Make going every day at the gym not such a chore. At your local CrossFit gym (I’d suggest CFGB but I may be a little biased) you have tons of training partners surrounding you doing the same exact thing as you are. Don’t let the people around you cause you to feel worse about yourself but use them as a constant game of cat and mouse. Better you move the more efficient you are and you will find that out as you constantly strive to one up your partner or partners. Make your time here fun and the fun lies within the community and of course a massive amount of barbells:)

:00-:10 10 Narrow Stance Squat/100m Run/10 Wallballs
:10-:25 Quad Smash
:25-:35 10 10 Rings to Hips/Alternating Pistols/10 Knees to Elbow
:35-:50 Thoracic Smash
:50-1:00 21-15-9 KB Swings(1.5/1)/Box Jumps 24/20
2.) 7 minutes alternating every 30 sec. Hollow Rock/Superman
3.) 30 minutes additional mobility
4.) 1 attempt ME strict MU’s
