12 Days of CrossFit'mas

Today is Christmas Eve, with this day comes our annual 12 Days of CrossFitmas.  Pretty sure that CFGB has been doing this since our first year but it may have been year two that this workout was adopted as the workout on this wonderful day. Every year this workout brings out so many faces that have not been around due to school or have moved away from the area and are back visiting with family, it really is a wonderful day! 8:00am this morning doors open and at 12:00pm the doors will be closing until Thursday at 5:00am so be sure to start the workout no later than 11:15am so our coaches can get home to their families.
New Years Eve, High Noon at the Soletski Residence our annual Beer Mile will once again take place. This year though we will be turning it in to Sam’s Beer Mile in honor of the first dog of CFGB. Sam is getting old and doesn’t have much time left and since he really can’t make it to the gym we’re going to bring all of his friends to him. We will run the mile and then have pizza with Sam afterwards. Scaling options available as usual so bring the whole crew!
Starting the beginning of the year Justin is letting me program once again with the programming I wrote in Afghanistan. Justin did an awesome job this past year and he’s created programming that will be used for years to come within this gym. Not to mention the fact that so many members can handstand walk I would say it was a very successful year, well done JT. Anyways the new stuff is called HERO Programming, it’s gross but awesome. Long story short I did a HERO WOD every Friday while I was overseas and came up with this idea more details to follow but trust me you’ll like it.

2 Handstand Push-ups
3 Knees to Elbows
4 Pull-ups
5 Burpees
6 DB Thrusters 45/30lb
7 Push ups
8 Box Jumps 24/20″
9 Sit-ups
10 Toes to Bar
11 Double Unders
12 Overhead Squat 135/95lb

The workout goes like the song, so you do 1 rope climb, then 2 Handstand Pushups & 1 rope climb, then 3 Knees to Elbows & 2 HSPU & 1 rope climb and so on.
