WOD 140728

So Shane says Grant What is your next dream? You said it was your dream to get to the games, so what is your next dream? My head was flooded with answers but I just couldn’t seem to translate them into words and now I’m trying to write them down……still can’t successfully translate now to paper. Know this though I do have them, lots of them and I’m planning on making them all come true. Know this too a lot of them include you, yes you. My dreams are to make your lives better because when I help your life get better you in return make my life better. Sounds strange but it’s true.
I do want to give a huge thank you to the six individuals that helped me reach a dream that I established a little short of 4 years ago to reach the CrossFit Games with a team. You were a team made up of 6 individuals with very different personalities, back rounds and abilities but you all acted as 1 team. I could not be prouder to be your coach or to have you represent this gym. You 6 got kicked around in the water and then kicked tail on land taking third in the world in a 6 mile relay. It was kind of the joke of the weekend that we are most definitely not runners but guess what you have proven that incorrect. Fran we like pushing Big Bob we do not and deadlifting, well we like it a lot but we are small. Not that we are using our size as an excuse it’s just a fact we need to get better at it and we will. Clearly we like our gymnastics element movements as well as that thing they call the worm finishing with a first place and a seventh place. Finishing off the weekend with a little 50’s chipper and more of that Big Bob we had moderate success and knowledge of the fact that we still have work to do to reach that next goal of becoming CrossFit Games Champions. You all left everything on the field and I saw it on all of your faces and felt it when I got to wrap my arms around each of you. Thank you Garrett, Justin, Tina, Ashley, Shane and Anna for your dedication and class.
I also want to give a huge thank you to everyone that came to California to cheer on this team and this gym. Thank you to every one of you that sent a note, said a prayer and gave financial assistance to get us here.
Now on to completing my next dream of becoming a member of the military. In 1 week I will be leaving you all for 15 weeks to attend basic training to become a member of the Wisconsin National Guard. I will come back a better leader and ready to lead this gym and every single member to better health and to whomever wants it back to the games. So you better train with purpose and be ready because when I walk back in these doors at CFGB it is going to be full steam ahead.
Let the Hero week commence!
