Games 140718

Do you know why we do the heavy unbroken squats? Let me tell you. Now you all know how I feel about squats. I may love them…. a lot. There are 2 things we must do prior to squatting, squeeze your butt and lead with the hips. After those two things are accomplished mother nature takes over. Leading with the hips does not mean to stick your butt out releasing the mid-line but imagining your head to hip is a solid piece of lumber. Squeezing your butt is more than just squeezing and letting go it's holding that position which is going to transfer to the knees hence the phrase drive your knees out. Driving your knees out isn't what your goal is but it's a result of squeezing those ol' butt cheeks. Okay enough about the mechanics and back to why we do unbroken sets of heavy squats, it forces us to use mechanics. Without those mechanics these sets become next to impossible but with them they are still incredibly difficult but guess what you're able to do them and do them well. Once you're able to accomplish these sets loading up the bar is no longer a thing you fear but something you look forward to because at the end of the day it's all about mechanics.
